$26 per hour
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting with the timely preparation and processing of financial information and a wide variety of other accounting duties. As well this position requires strong communication skills, and a customer service focused mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent’s responsibilities include the following duties:

Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area

Participate in the CLMW Safety program as required

Performing day to day transactions including posting Supplier Invoices
-
Reconcile vendor accounts
-
Processing outgoing payments via EFT and Cheques
-
Monthly Journal Entries as per requirement
-
Reconciling and managing bank, credit card accounts
-
Maintain payable filing
-
Reconcile accounts receivable aged report on a monthly basis
-
Prepare daily bank deposit and process payment receipts in the accounting system

Assist with collections
-
Reconcile assigned GL accounts and assist with month end preparation

Send and receive messages
-
Provide general information to clients and the public
-
Perform other tasks required
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field or courses in accounting or bookkeeping combined with several years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk are required

Proficient in administrative services

Combination of experience and education is acceptable
-
Knowledge of Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) and MS Office applications would be an asset

Proficient with computer and office equipment use
